We were very pleased to welcome the Chairman of Braintree District Council (Councillor Mrs Janet Money) to our club on Sunday 4 March and to show her how we run our club and give her information about our history and our aims and ambitions. The Chairman has a long-held connection with sporting activities and with the interest generated by this year’s Olympic Games, was very keen to visit sports groups and clubs.

In the meeting with Lyndon Griffiths and Alan McEwan, we discussed a range of subjects including grants, publicity and contacts within the Council. Hopefully we will be able to get some benefit from the visit but it was good to be able to meet a very supportive councillor with a very strong interest in sport in the area.
